Contact joinus@queensradio.org to get involved. Below are some of the roles and activities that we have but as with everything, theres always room for more!

Production & Pre-production
Interviews, documentaries, features and packages - Queens Radio pre-produces an increasing amount of content - both for our own use and to pitch to other local stations for syndication.

News and Sports Journalism
We produce 6 news bulletins a day, alongside our politics show, student issues, student lifestyle and two two-hour long sports shows every week, and are always keen for passionate, budding journalists to get involved.

Event Management
Alongside two weekly clubnights, we host monthly events ranging from local and national bands, DJs, comedy and movie nights.

Advertising and Promotion
Keeping ourselves active in the student community and financially supporting ourselves through partnerships with local companies also plays a big part in the daily running of the station.

Online and New Media
Blogging, podcasting and on-demand content is becoming increasingly important in radio, and we’re always striving to keep on top of these developments.

Technical
Obviously, theres a lot going on technically at Queens Radio - maintaining and developing our studio setup, developing our award-winning in-house software solutions and keeping our website ticking over are all part of this.

We provide full in-house training to all new members, as well as a full programme of advanced courses anywhere from podcasting, production work, studio techniques and DJing. We also have unique links with local broadcasters and media partners who should be working with us over the year on workshops and training on specific areas of presenting, broadcast journalism and technical fields.

Obviously we’re still a society at Queens, and can still be found stumbling about the Societies Quiz and various other … ahem … social environments. You’re never more than 10ft away from a Queens Radio presenter!
